My name is Theresa Morales and I am addicted to quilting!
U-n-I Quilts, Quilts Made by You & I
In 1987 I was in the local Mall walking by the fabric store, House of Fabrics,
and noticed a
Help Wanted sign. Immediately checking my state of dress,
setting it to rights, I walked right in and talked with the Manager. She virtually
hired me on the spot as Assistant Manager! This is where I got my
introduction to quilting... I was 19. During this phase (before the store closed)
I taught intro sewing classes, quilting classes, and creativity abounded when
customers asked it for their various projects.

Since that time I have bought most all the fabric paints Ms Maddux was
selling as an Independent Seller -- and I still have some! Even used on a few
quilts, too! I've also done Ribbon Embroidery, Ribbon Flowers, Cross-Stitch,
even a few stuffed animals and pillows, sewn clothing, played with Polymer
Clay now and then.... and other crafting endeavors.
Now it is almost exclusively Quilts and Quilting. In 2001 Mr. Monk of
Florida set up my Gammill Classic (26") on a 12' table frame. In 2007 my
parents were kind enough to take a trip down to West Plains, MO for a
weekend and drop off the Gammill machine head to be Retro-Fitted with a
stitch-regulator! Before, there was learning to keep the stitches relatively even
through-out a quilt; Now the machine does it for me!  Makes for much simpler
outlining and ditching.
My son, Griffin, enjoys the fashion show at
MQS in Kansas every year. This
will be his 4th year. I do a quilted wearable and he does his thing on the
CatWalk to the enjoyment of the quilting community. He's 8 yr. old. The
newest outfit "Phoenix Rising" won
3rd place at Columbus, OH's NQA.
For 2009 the quilted wearable will be a Samuari outfit... at least that's
what I'm planning!
